PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller driver missing with 8 "Unknown device" indicators beneath it.

I'm assuming it's some sort of chipset driver but......................any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

Pretty sure that would be the Cougar Point HM77 Chipset Driver. If you double click the unknown device in device manager, go to the "details" tab and select hardware ID from the dropdown menu and select OK, you will get another box open up. If you Google the first line of the box populated with text, the results should pretty much nail it as to which one it is - but it should be the HM77 driver. See my image below:

Thanks Stevie, I thought it was probably chipset related, my confusion now stems from the fact that the chipset driver was installed prior to the installation of the new processor, can't figure out why it wouldn't be there now.

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0153&SUBSYS_05501028&REV_09

Comes up with nothing in a google search.

No idea, the driver that was in it was the Panther HM77 chipset and I still have a folder with the original drivers in it. I reinstalled the driver but it didn't do any good.

For whatever reason when I re-ran the WEI assessment it resolved the issue, now I see the 3920xm processor and there are no unidentified drivers. Weird.

It was the processor / chipset. Now device manager shows the 3920 and all of its cores whereas it wasn't before. All I did to get it back was re-run the Windows Assessment Tool.

Cool. Glad it's working now! - the missing driver was an Intel one as PCI\VEN 8086 is Intel vendor.

Yep, seems to be working well now, WEI score went to 7.8 from 7.7 with the processor install. Picked up a little in the Heaven benchmark, no network connection so I can test the 3DMark suite yet.

along with google you can also transfer the information from the hardware id to the site www.pcidatabase.com and it will give you some detailed information about those devices

I am thinking on the exact same upgrade for my laptop. Could you give some good advice?
