Anybody know why im having such a hard time with plugging in my 5.1 headphones to the idt?

I have plugged in the colored 3.5mm´s in the right ports but it will automaticaly configure it right maybe 3% of the time and i have to sit there pulling plugging the plugs for maybe an hour to maybe get it to work correctly. And when i reboot computer it has gone back to being a retard again and im back to square one.

An hour? How time flies.. when you're sitting there pulling and plugging the plugs..

In any case is there any software that came with the headphones that you could use to save the computer the trouble of auto-configuring? Drivers up to date?

Have you gone into the IDT Audio Control Panel to configure it for 5.1? After the headphones or external 5.1 speakers are connected, go to the "Speakers/Headphones" section and select from the drop-down. As you connect the leads one at a time, it is not likely your system will be good at auto-configuring itself for this, as you have discovered.

Yeah i have tried those tips thanks, but cannot get it to work.

I just need to double check . In what color order are those jacks in the M18x since they are all black? Is it this order (from back to front) = Orange, pink, black, green ?

I plug in the contacts and when i try out each channel the left and right doesnt make any sound but center does and it sounds out on left speaker if im not mistaken. And the LFE/Sub sounds out on the right speaker (veird i know :)). Rear left and right does sound right though.

I think the IDT has problems auto calibrating for 5.1 and everything goes wrong, also there is no way to calibrate this manually.
