Same here. I mean I suppose one would be fine... but when people are willing to spend more on a phone than on a laptop (and aren't even gonna use 1/4 of the features of the smartphone) I just wanna... smack them. Hnggg.

There is a category to all types of people. There are smartphone lovers, PC lovers, RC lovers, and Console lovers. To each their own. But I actually love all of them and is part of 3 big communities that pertain to each. Currently I'm working on a custom rom for my LG G3 since none are out for it yet (aosp). But it's taking a little while.

But nowadays smartphones are slowly creeping up in PC territory when it comes to prowess. I mean Damn but the display on my phone is already better than almost 90% of PCs out there. And Its just a phone. Each have their strong points though.

A tiny smartphone or tablet display has such a high pixel density that even a comparatively crappy one looks fairly decent. So, a really good display looks fantastic when you scrunch it down to pocket-sized and then give it retina-searing illumination.

You can't compare smartphone/tablet displays to PC ones simply due to economies of scale.

True, and any screen, whether TN, IPS or OLED, at any resolution, at any refresh rate, at any size, at 2D or 3D, using any colour space is just an inherently flawed interposer-device for the eye; the only reference by which all such things should be measured. So ... really, we merely need an interposer card for the optic nerve, much simpler. Could even input data that our rods and cones can't pick up (say IR and UV, needs further research though :D and a redefinition if it works). The brain will adapt, just needs a signal distinguishable from whatever range it received up till then.

Allot of high pixel density smartphone screens simply look washed out and crappy. Doesn't matter how pixel dense a screen is, it won't change the fact that it can't reproduce colors properly And won't make the viewing angles any better or contrast.

At least phone shops are everywhere so you can make a comparison with live units.
