I have a 4940MX POS CPU that I have managed to overclock to 4.1 GHz and passed the wPRIME stability test but the temps are going up to 95C....... I increased the voltage a bit to be able to hold a 4.1 GHz on all cores otherwise on the default it was throttling down to 3.3 GHz

I have no clue how to use XTU I just used the OC settings of the 4930MX to get this OV to hold @ 4.1 GHz on all cores/threads

    what shall I change?

    these are my current settings.......

Nevermind, thank God I had Mr. Fox's OC Settings saved that he once did on my system! Using these settings, I got 10C down now maxing out @ 85C under full load on all 8 threads / 4 cores!

I had issues with this latest XTU every reboot it will reset my Turbo Boost Power Max to the default so I installed the previous version 4.3.0.11 and now the settings don't change upon a reboot

check my settings now bro, anything else I should change?

Hi that was better. Latest xtu shall work with Aw18 but earlier version is also ok. Use also Trottlestop after you getting an stable overclock. Mr Fox have a good video guide in Trottlestop guide tread. Start testing before you make other or different settings.
Test your processor with different benchmark test (Wprime, xtu benchmark , Cinebench 11 and R15, 3Dmark11, 3Dmark vantage, 3Dmark Sky diver and software you normally use). Monitor temperature and that your processor don't throttling during the tests before you maybe use or trying other settings. Also run virus scan because it can Make stability problems for processors who have wrong power settings. And use high power settings not balanced power in windows power plan :p

So now that I have a stable overclock, what do I need XTU for? like if I format, is it really needed or are the settings saved in the BIOS for good?

They who have BGA processors need balanced power settings because the trotting garbage processor. See under my avatar ;)

You can have xtu but set xtu to start manually when you run Trottlestop. Don't run them both on start up. You can get problems. You may need it later if your settings not stick or you get problems or want other overclock settings later. It's also useful to set everything to default setting if you need to flash to an other bios.

thanks bro, I don't run throttle stop as my 4.1 GHz OC is stable and never throttles since I increased the Core Current Limit to 130A and the Processor current limit to 120A ;)

Remember Trottlestop have 4 Oc profiles you can use on the fly. Better with to much core and processor current than less :p 120/130Amp is to little for 4.3 -4.4 on all cores :D
Edit: Is your processor temperature better now during benchmark tests?

200 to be safe and have enough. Use it for all profiles in Trottlestop. Ok to have enough if I also want an higher overclock profile in Trottlestop.

WOW that's a lot! isn't that too dangerous?

BTW, what's the difference between current and voltage for the CPU?

I write on my phone now. Not easy to explain with no translation. But it's the same as home. You need voltage and amp. To low voltage your machine can't run. Voltage x amp= power

Remember processor and core current is only a limit. If you don't have enough then processor Trottle
