    Hi all.
In short story I will write what happen to me in Poland and my Dell Alienware M18x R2.
I bought that laptop in 2013r. after I got grant from Europen Union for professional activation of persons with disabilities. I sign my own company and spent half of grant for Alienware M18x R2 rest I spent for needed programs like Adope Creative Suit CS6.
After upgrade my Alienware in 2014r. for 2x 880m it work very good till 3.11.2016 year.
When I end work at 2am night and I turn it off computer it went down normal at 8am after short sleep I would like start work on it again it not start proper.
It start biping 8 times and system not start. From this time my nightmare began.
I had it full insured from all kind off accident also company was insured from bad made work by me in Warta S.A..
I think Im safe but nope, Insurance company told me that they will not pay insurance till their super service will try reapair it.
I told I wanna have repaired it in Dell but they refuse my request.
They stupid Polish service SSN sp. z o.o.
link for their facebook page is here with plenty negative feedback with persons who gave them computer to reapair: https://pl-pl.facebook.com/Ssnnotebook/
They take my computer and in time 8 weeks they damage it more then it was before, when they try rapair my display they didnt connect all cables to mainboard that touching panel is and logo alienware on display didnt work.
    [IMG] https://www.dropbox.com/sc/chbxf7taqahml04/AACFx5r2IeoVAC1R66Se5U0za
they exchange original screws on extrernal cover to broken and damage my cover in place where screws coming.
If any one can made for me photo with proper screws inplace where you have battery please
here is what they did with laptop:
    [IMG] https://www.dropbox.com/sc/wxts39ii7sagyci/AAD1mrLGM_UhMFbzhyQj8X5La
They send back to me at 20.12.2016r. (they write to insurance company that they bought new not used Display panel) but in my opinion they send my to repair) in their mind repaired Alienware but it work only 30 minutes and after restart it died again with same 8 bips.
But they write to Insurance company that it is full repaired and they dont know why it not work correct lol and that they didnt exchange screws and didnt damage my laptop lol.
I resend it to them back with dead display and send idiots also MrFoxRock2 movie how proper disable and mount again computer lol:

and at the end they didnt connect cables on back cover where you have big Alienware Head that it not have any light I will need that picture to. It work before I sent it to that stupid service. Now that idiot service write that they didnt exchange screw and all was good repaired and after 8 weeks of holding my computer their write that they have to low number of time to proper repair it lol.
Now stupid insurance company Warta after 8 weeks off without any luck in repairing my laptop wanna send them to Dell, but computer get more damages in time when it was in SSN.
I talk with Dell service, they dont have new display and probably will not repair it but at least I will get proper information what is broke to get that paper to stupid Insurancce company.
I need now show that stupid service SSn exchange my screws in place where is battery and picture of back panel of display with alien head with active light what of course my fault I didnt do before i sent to service it is my fault lol.
I made only standard photo before i sent it to service:

The first 8 beeps could have multiple causes, but if it happened twice then it's likely edid bricking. See here for a diy fix (and remove EVGA Precision X, if you have it installed).

Too bad about all the extraneous damage :vbfrown: ...

My uncle took his HP laptop to a mom and pop electronics repair shop. They told him it needs a new main board so he says to fix it. They call him 30 days later and say the replacement main board was faulty and that his screen was cracked. It was not cracked when he took it in. I told him to go get his hard drive and let them keep the computer. Bunch of incompetent idiots in this world.

Had an acquaintance drop off a laptop at a chain, no less; to-look fee for $50 and she was told 'sorry, can't be fixed'. Ok, fair enough. Opened it up; every cable left disconnected, amd motherboard swapped for an intel version and the cpu was missing. Also the cmos battery was ripped off, breaking the connector on the (wrong) mb. Had to take some very deep breaths while stating this out in the repair shop, to be sure.

This is 'normal' business practice, you see: in their eyes customers are idiots and don't know a screwdriver from a hacksaw. So what you can get away with on a 'non-repairable system' is testing each component of value on a donor system and then swap each working item with known defective ones and return the re-assembled device back to the customer.

It's why I'd never, never, never drop off my systems at a shop. Nor bother with more than the mandatory 1 year warranty either; diy or replace component. Frankly, official brand's repair services and especially resellers are a lot better (return business), but these too tend to outsource anything that needs a soldering iron and that means 'black box' again.

Don't worry brotha man, we are here to help with INFORMATION, but you will need to do some actual basic level technician work on your end, and thus you will need a few basic tools to include a jewelers screw driver (magnetic ideal), needlenose pliers, small parts box or container to hold screws, a decent mental inventory to reassemble the unit after disassembly and patience, I will include a relevant post pertaining to your initial problem and a tear-down video by way of Mr. Fox:

First, your initial problem, the dreaded 8 Beeps, have a look here:

    http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19501234

    Tear-down and reassembly:

If the problem is limited to the cable to the power button being disconnected, that's a super easy fix.

The technician's are mostly unskilled and / or underpaid labor, they have about the same level of knowledge and skill as most of us on here, I would avoid them as there is a good chance that they may break something in the process or just hold up your unit in some kind of infinite repair loop involving going back and forth with either Dell or some 3rd party insurance racket, as you have.

Learn to do the basic level work on your unit, it's really not that hard.

Ah I see, just read your post. Yeah I'm glad I moved away from PX during the controversy where it was discovered, with considerable public outrage, that EVGA essentially carbon copied the work of MSI Afterburner's programmer.

That and now the Pascal cards catching on fire because EVGA wanted to save $.25 on proper thermal pads to the VRM on their ACX cooled cards lol, EVGA has lost an unrecoverable amount of credibility in my book, I will probably never touch their hardware or software again.

Oh you can sell it, just not as a whole unit I suppose, but the internals, particularly the motherboard and possibly CPU and GPU(s) have value, and you can sell those in the marketplace here or say on ebay.
