i apologize for the somewhat generic thread title but i am not sure how else to describe it. I have an alienware 18 with tho 770ms in sli. i am running an external monitor at 1600x900 as a secondary to the built in 1920x1080. when i try to play some games at that native resolution of 1080 p they work fine but some display as if it is being scaled larger than that monitor and 'leaking' onto the second screen. i have attached a cell phone pic because i couldnt figure out how to screenshot it.

I have played with the settings in the nvidia control panel such as the aspect ratio/fullscreen/no scaling to no avail. i have the 337.88 drivers but this was also happening with earlier releases. any suggestions?

How have you configured the second monitor? Is it set to be cloned or extended? Using dissimilar resolutions can cause anomalies like this when running games and benchmarks, especially if the wrong configuration is used.

The second monitor is extended, and 16x9 is its native res. Through my research, I guess its 'over scanning'? Its odd because watchdogs and the heaven benchmark both run as expected. Even older games like unreal tournament are displaying properly. Direct x or open gl don't seem to factor in either. Just specific games such as open arena, and to a lesser extent dead island epidemic behave like this. The home screen of deadnisland displays like this too but when I enter an actual game, it displays correctly on the one monitor.

If it's working fine with those other applications, then I think you nailed the problem... Open Arena must be the culprit. I'm not sure why it would behave differently. Maybe the free price tag has something to do with it. Maybe there is a config file in the Open Arena installation folder that you can find to tweak Open Arena to correct it.
