So most games play fine on my system but one or two keep crashing. Rogue Company in particular keeps crashing at least once every hour and quotes a fatal D3D error.

I upgraded my graphics card a few months back with a little help from you guys and I used a modded .inf file to install an older driver which is version 388.18 i think, so it's way out of date, i think the latest one is arond 450. something. My upgraded graphics card is a NVIDIA GTX 980M.

Can someone please let me know if I can update the driver to a later version. My Alienware M18xR2 was bought in 2012 so I'm not sure if I can install the latest drivers or not.

If I am able to install a newer driver can someone detail how exactly I do it because I can't remember.

I tried to follow a YouTube video earlier by one of the guys on here about modding the .inf file but when I opened up the pastebin file attached to the video my NVIDIA string was not in the list so I couldn't replace the original with the modded.

Also, I'm unsure about how to implement the mod, is it done in safe mode?

I'm a noob with this stuff, I just don't want to break my laptop. Please help, lol.

It's pretty easy and you can use the latest driver if you're running Windows 10. Did you want me to walk you through doing the mod yourself or did you want to wait for me to mod one for you after work today?
