Been running a GTX 980M for a while now and been on the look out for a second one to add to my M18x-R2.

finally got one from a friend but its not working (hard to tell ) Install is as normal but when I plug in the mains power I hear a faint buzz ever few seconds. Turns out it is from the graphics card, the laptop won't power on or anything except buzz.

Put my old 980M back in and everything works fine :S
Here for pictures of the two cards, the green one if the one that is working and the blue on is the new one...

Oh just before someone asks, I tried putting the new card in the other GPU slot and the R2 still refuses to show signs of life except buzz every few seconds.
Tried it with and without the SLI cable :(

Can't see anything physically wrong with it that would stop it from working, and ideas would be helpful.

probably a shorted or blown MOSFET on the 980M

Dam that bad is it ?
Well the guy did send it in a padded envelope with no anti static bag -.-. Thinking about it the buzzing came right from the chip itself so I guess it is toast.
For £250 Its not to much of a loss, at least I can get my money back and find another.
