    New to this myself so i did a bit of googling.

    Have a look at the link below, scroll down to the photo showing the usb ports the two left side ports a supposedly usb 3.1 and the two on the right side are usb 3.0

    It looks like the usb 3.1 ports have more connectors inside.

    EDIT: I forgot to post the link, I cannot find an 3.1 socket, but below is an 3.1 plug the socket is the reverse.

    Acctually that might not be a usb v3.1 and only and v3.0, v3.1 plugs and sockets are supposed to be teal in colour, when usb 3.0 is blue.
