Definitely quicker too boot than the Win 7. Hopefully it wont kill my monitor. Running 359.06 drivers. Weird thing is if I put airplane mode to disable the wireless, I dont see an icon for the Killer NIC card, but I do have internet. Weird and wacky stuff as Johnny Carson used to say.

Wow, I hope not, too. This list of affected Alienware and Clevo notebooks that have had displays (and even motherboards in the case of some Clevos) replaced due to Windows 10 cancer OS screwing them up just keeps getting bigger.

Whatever you do, don't install EVGA Precision X. It's the best product of its type, but something about it goes haywire once Windows 10 has buggered things up.

How long does it usually take to bust the display?

A day or less for most people. If you don't have Precision X installed, you might be OK. If it has been more than a day or two and nothing has happened, you may be one of the lucky ones that did not suffer any harm. I think those affected are a small minority, but if you're in that minority that is cursed by the problem it's a really big deal (and an expensive problem to fix).

So my A18 had Win 7 Ultimate and Microsft only replaces it with Win 10 Pro. Is that fair? Like trading in a top line Cadillac for a loaded Caprice Classic if you ask me.

Well, Win10 Pro is the highest option. There is no Win10 Ultimate Edition.

The Geforce icon in the taskbar keeps nagging me to adjust the screen resolution to optimal settings. It was doing the same thing in Win 7 too. When I click on it takes me to the display control panel applet and then the nag goes away for a while.

If you have tinkered with the display scaling or custom resolution settings in NVIDIA Control Panel, that can trigger that obnoxious warning from Windows. Check those and be sure everything is set to defaults and that might make the warning go away.
