Normally I would wait to create a new thread about a game until I have played it, but I couldn't resist since it's on sale for 29.99USD down from 49.99USD for the weekend. I have spoken extensively with fellow NBR M18x owners who claim the game is fantastic and works well with 580M SLI. I'll post more after I have leveled up some more in Ridge Racer(Vita) online and after I've have had a few hours of gameplay with Anno 2070 on my M18x.

Save 40% on Anno 2070? on Steam

Sweet!! I've been too cheap to drop 49.99USD for full retail. Currently I'm at 97% download. I can't wait!! I even got off my Vita...lol.

    Done...gotta go!!

Yeah I wanted to buy this game but I was waiting for the first big discount. Sadly I spent 3000 dollars for my new couch so I am broke :(

But I want it so maybe I can figure something out.

Anno 2070 has nothing to do with Splash Damage(Developers of Brink) and Bethesda Softworks(Publisher of brink) and are NOT responsible for Anno 2070.
Anno 2070 is developed by Related Designs & Ubisoft Blue Byte. It's published by Ubisoft.

They are also completely different genres.

 So, what's wrong with Brink? It works awesome on my M18x and it's tons of fun to play. Did it not work well on your system? Maybe I am not connecting the dots... how does your bad experience with Brink relate to Anno 2070?

well I pay $50.00 for a game that is not cool enough, as crysi2, farcry2, metro2033, skyrim and more. so that's what wos wrong with Brink.

OMG - $50 is a lot of dough. I cannot remember the last time I paid $50 for a game. Sorry to hear you dropped so much cash on something that that turned out to be less than satisfying.

That's one of the reasons I never buy new game releases and always wait until the price drops to $20 or less before buying. By waiting, I get plenty of feedback from other gamers, read reviews, read the game developer forums to see what problems early adopters experience in the first few of months following the game release, watch gameplay videos on youtube, wait for patches to fix sloppy code, etc. I think I paid like $15 for Brink when Steam had it on sale. Maybe that's why I like it more than you do. For $15 it only needs to be fun to play instead of killer.

So, how does your experience with Brink relate to Anno 2070? Are you just being cautious about buying a game that is too new to gauge the real "wow factor" or something else?

50.00? Most of my game purchases are 49.99 to 59.99USD!! Anno 2070 is definitely worth 29.99USD. I payed full price for Crysis 2 and Far Cry 2. Crysis 2 was a good game. Not as good as Crysis Warhead but good. Far Cry 2 was also good.

Far Cry 3 looks AWESOME!!! I will be paying full price on day one. I hope it supports SLI!!

Yeah same here I buy games as soon as I can get my hands on them!

Case in point I bought the PS vita a week early (50 bucks more) and Also got 11 games full priced.

I would much rather get the game as soon as its out than wait a month+ to get it cheaper.

Unless its a game that I do not care much about then I can wait.

its more fun to enjoy the game when everyone else is. Like I know my friends who wait and miss out on all the fun discussions and arguments because of spoilers. Really kills an important aspect of gaming for me, hence why I upgraded to two 580's on my desktop to play Skyrim and Battlefield 3 instead of waiting for Kepler.

I'm a lone ranger when it comes to game play. I've never developed an interest in online multiplayer. I also do not have time to play when most people are wanting to play. My availability is limited due to work.

Game developers count on people being willing to pay out the nose for new releases. I'm just not one of those people, LOL. They would go broke if everyone was as frugal as I try to be. I prefer to keep more of my hard earned cash. Being patient is hard sometimes, but ultimately buying 3 games for the cost of one is a nice reward.

I recently picked ANNO 2070 up with a bunch of friends, and we have been playing 4 player co-op for days on end, one particular save ap is now logged at over 38 hours played.
So much content and exploration, and the out of game unlock system, as well as senate voting and World events, really capture you into the game when you give it a go.
But I have to admit, the learning curve can be daunting. Just do the starting missions "the 2 year plan" and you will learn enough to develop the rest of the game on your own through normal gameplay.

I would highly recommend this game to people who will play it with friends... it will occupy MANY MANY hours!

Good post. As soon as I get over gaming on my new 3rd gen iPad I will give it my undivided attention. :)
