    Hi guys

not sure whats going on, but i have a Alienware M18X, since this morning i don't know why, but after i turn on win 7 for around 5 min the computer will do like a freeze/ lag for like 2 to 3 sec then all my fans will max out, with out me doing anything at all, all gpu running at 0% usage and 31 degrees cpu running at 0 – 2% usage.

when i use safe mode everything is fine, fans wont go crazy.

done virus scans with macafee, avg, mawware bites, nothing at all

i am thinking maybe is the GPU? but then again, all fans are spinning including CPU

i did update the bios as well.

i dont know how to stop this, it stays on max, wont ever stop, and all the wind that are coming out are cold, can someone tell me how to fix this, or know what might be wrong?

also would anyone know of a fan control program i can use that will work on a m18x so i can at least use my laptop till dell comes to fix :(?

    Thanks

How did you go about disabling them? I stopped them in the services.msc but I'm not sure if thats the proper procedure, thanks.

Never mind its in the properties for each service. It seemed to help!

Yeah, go to properties of every of them and set them to Manual, stopping of them won't help, as they'll be started again after reboot.

I wrote don't worry, but we should be worried. It seems these services may fry our video cards.

It started happening yesterday and yesterday AlienAutopsy was updated automatically to Dell SupportAssist which is causing problems.
Please disable services which I advised and see if it helps, if yes you don't need a tech support (don't forget to reboot after that).
Nothing is known about the fix yet.
And thanks for the link :)

Please verify if it helps, my problem was similar to yours, but not exactly the same.

There is no problem for the performance even if you have it installed but have it disabled with autoruns.exe. Using not so big disk space. Thought to test the GPU Bench software on my overclocked GPU later ..

Uninstalled the Dell crap and problem seems sorted. Still nasty how that stuff appeared unannounced and then messes up our fan behaviour.
    thanks for the tips guys
