By any chance any of you guru's have heard or found out an approx date IF its going to happen of the m18x implementing the Skylake processors.? I read at a site that the Gaming and performance hardened Skylake's i7 are coming first then the lower ends for regular laptops, and portables are coming.

Any Idea if they are implementing them on the m18x? I know they are in the 13, 15 and 17 and promise a free upgrade to Skylake if you buy between the 27 of august and the 27th of september. But i dont want another 17 I want the 18x and want to know if anyone has news or "rumors" about it.

    Thanks.

I think it's depends if Dell can get a screen for a new Aw18.

The fact that they are now selling the 18 again is probably more then some could hope for, let alone a revision.

I hope they dont stay behind the 8ball and let MSI and the others get ahead. well they are ahead already, but i wish they revamp that 18x with skylake or the 17's for that matter.

They aren't even shipping out the AW 18's. I'm on my second order and some on their third and still no laptops shipping. They just infinitely stay in pre-production or in production and never move. Of course they give a different excuse every time you call.

thats freaking sad. The other sad part is that the 17x are on skylake already but ram is maxed at 16gb and just a single gpu unless you want to carry around that bulky **** that should only be for pc's.... :/

Heh it says there that they wont make dual gpus for the m18's and the 17's are significantly lower in ram and that stupid amplifier which makes the whole ( mobile ) thing useless. I guess illl have to say bye bye to AW and settled with 1 gpu but 32g ram with the gt72.. cant get the titan because of where the darn mouse pad is placed and has no palmrest. since Im disabled and can only use 2 fingers, thats impossible for me to get :/

Why Msi ? BGA processors shouldn't be in a high end laptop. Remember you have better choice.

Terrablade, I pack a small Logitech K400 keyboard/trackpad in my backpack, with all my laptops I have used separate wired/wireless keyboards for a long time, I got tired of replacing keyboards :)

It's not optimal, but it removes the variation of laptop keyboards/trackpads from the mix. I can use the same wireless / wired keyboard / mouse / trackpad on all my laptops / desktops.

Don't give up on the GT80 dream :)

Mention one. The one closest is eurocom ( specs wise ) and still not on skylake.

You don't get it. I'm a tetraplegic with the use of only my index fingers. Can not use a mouse since I can't click because I can't bend them ( I chicken pick ) the keys on the keyboard. And I have to use a tilted laptop stand when I'm in bed so no place for keyboard plus no palm rest. My arms would be wasted in 5 minutes. Those with my condition know what I'm talking about. Titan is a no go for us. And 72 single GPU is a turn off.

Not with dual GPUs, but these will be launched you should see. If all of the newest laptops + Sli only comes with BGA processor; Not worth buying. Build rather a serious gaming rig. BGA processors destroying the pleasure with high end laptops .

Have a look at P870DM - The Phoenix - Z170 Chipset not an P570WM X79 straight successor with X99 but fair beast, ships with 2x M.2 Pcie slots for x4 speed, 1xTB port , 5xUSB 3.0 ports , 2xHDD bays, 1x ODD bay, a whopping CPU at 91W - 6700k, 2x 980M SLI or a 200w GTX 980 or 120W 980 GTX DT SLI cards (Yes, It supports that config once the MSI machines start to ship, the Mobo has that power delivery for those power hungry DTR machines & sports 3 heatsinks - 1 dedicated to PCH) & 4k @60Hz G-Sync or FHD 75Hz G-Sync & you can get an alternative to the Killer 1525 if you can negotiate with Eurocom / Mythologic personally.

Nothing can beat this beast as of now..

Alienware is dead, feels very bad after reading the response from Mr. Azor, As if we don't know what we are buying > Points at Clevo P570WM or the Legendary M18x R2 ROFL..
All corporate excuses, the moment Dell turned private Alienware imploded. RIP, Amen !

Big brand as Clevo and MSI have already models with desktop Gtx980. Dell might come stumbling long after these brand with new BGA junk. Maybe about 5 months later. Not much to get excited about. Dell had just begun sales of rebadged Aw models with previous generation graphics cards. Innovative?

Still noone has found what I'm asking. Or there's no company actually making or letting you customize it the way you want. That clevo doesn't have the latest skylake and that keyboard is for a 15inch which looks horrible on a 17, so disproportionate it looks childish.

What a bummer being forced to buy a machine thats going to underperform or one which it is not tailored to its size. Again what a bummer
