I have no idea... basics I'd try: check the gpu and cpu temps, remove any overclocks, try booting in save mode, booting with Integrated graphics, run memtest, run system diagnostics.....

Press F12 at post (when booting) and run Dell/Alienware ePSA System Diagnostic Test. It will also test both battery and charger, I believe, in addition to other system components.

Don't need to get into windows to try diagnostics, just hold FN and the power button (from memory), to boot into safe mode just spam F8 then you start the system until you get the option to do so....

Oh wait, you have AMD GPUs? Hmm, that's not good.

Perhaps a bad GPU if that works with CrossFire disabled.

OK, now that it works again, what happens if you re-enable CrossFire? Does it mess up? If it does, run DDU in Safe Mode, reboot in to normal mode and see if reinstalling your Catalyst driver package helps. Maybe the game crashing corrupted some of your driver files or something like that. Hope that is all it is.

If reinstalling the drivers doesn't fix it, then it sounds like one of your GPUs bit the dust.

ok MRFOX, i just open my aw m18x r2, disconnect 2 second GPU2 (red circle in the picture) and works flawless, then i put the good card on that slot (GPU1) and don't even recognize, dunno why, but not working

I tried the bad gpu on port one, and confirm is the card, stop working and restart the laptop at 20seconds sometimes get black screen, so i know the card is failling

Anyway, i don't know how motherboards works but i'm wondering if my motherboard is failling too, cuz when i put the good card on the second gpu is't not working, the weird thing is when i put the 2 cards recognize both, but freeze at the minute, like i said, don't know if the motherboard active second GPU when 2 cards are running, or that port should work or wut?

The one GPU is no good. Take it out and only use the good one until you can do something different. You cannot use one GPU in the secondary PCIe slot (near the eSATA port). It won't work that way. A single GPU has to be in the primary slot (near the VGA port) for the machine to work.

Glad you figured it out. That 6990M lasted a lot longer than most. It served the machine well.

For some reason I thought you had 6990M. If you had 7970M you should be able to pick one up fairly cheap. Or, you could wait and just use one 7970M and save up for a GPU upgrade. You can probably still play most games fine with a single 7970M.
