    Hi folks.
    I want to upgrade my gpu to Nviidia geforce 970m MXM 3.0 B slot.
    My question is:
    Is it nescessery to demount the display in order to acces the gpu?
    And will it be stable whit a 6/7 years old AW.
    Specs: A13 bios, 3.gen I7 3630QM 2.4Ghz, Win7 Ultimate 64bit, non-upclock, 8Gb ram (orderd 16Gb more) all drivers updated by now.
    Thats all, good felllas. The mounting do i.
    Any serius replies would be helpfull.

    Hello,
    Yes you will have to remove the LCD so you can remove the plastic frame that supports the keyboard. It's not a huge pain but still a pain. Just take your time and you'll be fine.

    Just a side note, you'll need to tear your machine down nearly straight to the bottom to access GPU(s) and CPU, so do some benches e.g. temp and stability checks before you completely reassemble it again.
