I have searched here, and google, and have found treads about speakers, but not my specific issue so sorry if this is a re post. I have spoken to Dell, and they are sending out new speakers, but I am wondering if this is just a software problem or is this also a hardware problem. In the IDT software if I have any of the audio presets on I get what sounds like static not loud or overpowering but a underlying tone, it goes away when that setting is turned off, also when watching or playing a game sometimes it sounds like something is rattling on the right speaker never on the left. Hopefully this is a hardware issue, and I won't have to wear headphones all the time for the life span of the M18x

Re-install the audio drivers/software. The rattle may be a blown speakers, but I would do a fresh install of the audio drivers and software.

They replaced the speakers, and the static noise is still there, but only if I use the movie option in the IDT, software. I currently have it set up to music, and that is fine. The rattling problem is also, not there anymore.

That sounds like software to me. Maybe newer/updated drivers?
