Alienware 18 Part Numbers???

Hello, I've been able to find the parts list on NBR for the M18x R1 and R2 but cannot find a complete list for the Alienware 18.

Does anyone know if NBR have one?

If they don't does anyone know the part numbers for the following items.

Alienware 18 DVD caddy and cable.

Alienware 18 Hard Drive caddy and ribbon cable.

Alienware 18 Killer 1202 Wifi/BT card.

Those parts are pretty generic. Does it matter if they lack the AW sticker?

No it does not matter if they are non genuine, although I don't imagine anyone would make a HDD ribbon connector beside the manufacturer.

The link provided is for a caddy to replace your DVD drive, I need a primary hard drive caddy with cable as this laptop I purchased is missing that item entirely.

 

Is it this Alienware 18 (and its motherboard)? Not well versed in AW model numbering ... think you need a degree for that ...

At least it uses normal SATA and slimline SATA, so this caddy would fit for the odd. There's no proprietary connector; just look at the mb's cable socket and match it to other Dell SATA cables. Can't see a 2nd hdd SATA socket ... does it share the port (and bandwidth) with the 1st drive? Or is one push-type and the other ZIF-type?

The bracket that attaches the ODD or ODD-to-HDD caddy to the chassis is proprietary even though the ODD or caddy can be generic. In a pinch, one could attach the HDD caddy to the chassis using two-sided foam mounting tape. The drive end of the cable is generic, but the motherboard end is proprietary.

Alienware also offers a special third HDD cable that has an ordinary full-sized SATA port instead of the smaller mini-SATA port used for ODD, and a second HDD bracket which totally eliminates the need for a conversion caddy to adapt the cable connection form factor and mount a HDD in place of an ODD. You can buy the special bracket and cable in a kit to replace the ODD with a HDD. An ordinary aftermarket ODD-to-HDD caddy also works fine if you already have an ODD. If you are starting with nothing whatsoever in the chassis you'll need a cable and bracket, and screws.
