My alienware 18 (I believe r2) cannot start with sli enabled, and this only started occuring after getting my gpus replaced and the heatsinks replace by dell under warranty, and after updating my pc to Win 10 pro Anniversary. The windows 10 pro regular before the update works fine, up to driver 3.7, in which not even running one card functions, and this applies for both OS's. Is there any fix?

With respect to driver 3.7. Are you referring nVidia GPU drivers or something else?

Yes. The 880m is a gtx card. SLI has always been unstable on notebooks especially, but the cards not working at all is horrible.

In my experience, they've been quite good. Of course, the stock vBIOS is prone to throttling, but in most of the newer titles, it generally behaves.

I was curious about the driver because I didn't entirely understand what you meant by '3.7'. I can only assume that you're referring to the 37x.xx series of drivers. Have you given the following driver a try?

Yes I tried the driver. Anything after 3.7.x.x causes complete driver failiure

    - on the Win 10 anniversary os. After rollback it works, but only with one card. SLI still does not let the computer start

I can't be certain, but this sounds like a hardware-related issue, at least in part. I'd suggest making this Dell's problem since they essentially played a substantial part in this situation -- have them do another service call on the hardware.

Yeah, this is on Dell. If these are parts Dell just installed, you need to put this back in their hands and have them fix what they have broken.

I have the same problem too with 980m gtx regarding windows 10 and any updates towards the anniversary edition. For some reason , with microsoft driver , it don't crash , but once i install nvidia, it starts crashing. even with the latest drive on windows 10.

I had unstable driver issues with my 980m gtx on windows 10 , it always crashes. I believe all the new update that windows 10 add , cripple the card. nVidia driver crashes randomly and my laptop would freeze and had to reboot , and it would reboot igpu. It's " all the time " ..i'm not even sure if my card is bad or its the driver itself.

    I'm forced to use my R9 m290X lol .....

You could try Windows 7 on a separate drive or partition and see if the problems persist. If they do, almost certain it is a hardware fault
