Hi, I have a client who has an AW 18 viking and is wanting to run Windows XP 32bit for a specific older program, they have tried Virtual machines and Windows 7 but nothing else has worked for them appart from natively running Win XP 32bit (on another system).

Has anyone tried Win XP 32bit on the AW 18 or know if any drivers would be available? Thanks :)

There is zero chance of native XP working on Alienware 18, no drivers exist.

Thanks Raidriar, so his only options would be rewriteing his program for Win 7 or 10 if he can, are there XP 32bit drivers for the M18x R1 - R2? I suggested an M18x R2 but not many of them come up in Australia for sale very often.

The newest Alienware he should be looking at for proper XP support are core 2 based machines, which are expensive these days. Definitely should move on to windows 10 if he values security/constant patches.

Ah ok thanks, in that case his best option would be to rewrite his program for windows 10, the other reason for choosing the AW 18 is he wants to do some CPU overclocking as I believe he's coming from a Dell precision m6700.
