    How come none of you told me about this audio visualization that comes standard with our M18x? It's sick!! It works way better than the Awesome method used for our old R2's. Besides working with Windows Media Player out of the box, this also works with iTunes. For some this works out of the box. If it does not use, the following method to easily get it up and running. You may need to go into the control panels "folder option" and enable show hidden files under the view tab to see the AppData folder.

    I'm talking about the AlienFX visualization in WMP. It's sick!!! Before on the R2 we had to download a plugin and configure it. I'm so glad Dell added this without any work on our behalf. It works great with the audio.

    IMO I think it does a better job displaying the colors and the timing along with the music is on point!! I'm not sure if you can configure it. But at this point I don't feel the need to.

    It depends on the song. Some of my trance songs display atleast 7 colors.

    I only installed itunes to see if it would work. When I played a song it worked w/o any tweaks. Since I can't stand itunes I have since uninstalled it. I hope this helps.

    For winamp users, like me, there is a winamp plugin too. I don't know if it's been updated for the m18x, but it probably works. I can't wait to see my AVS active desktop rocking along with my keyboard.

    Does the Alienhead logo on the laptop cover groove to the beat too?

    Man I wish they would give us control over individual keys. You could scroll messages or create shapes and ASCII like art... probably lots of neat stuff.

    Nop , Alienware head is just white light for m18x , not like m17x r2 , so the FX didn't effect it. (Alienware likes the style like white apple lol)
