    Hey,

Im afraid that's not a good idea m8. FullHD screen PPI is already high, on the border of DPI scaling. If you mount 1440p screen you will have to use scaling which is really bad thing. It does not work with older programs, hell it sometimes doesn not work with new ones (because developers are old-school dumbasses).

Games also does not scale often. Try to run some game in DSR 1440p mode on your current screen and see what the hell is going on. Even perfect scaling games like Counter Strike. They still have issues with console.

Other question is quality of screen itself. FullHD one quality is superb. The other one may not be as good as old.

I think that this resolution would be perfect on 18.4", even on 17.3". It could be a bit on the pushing-it side (for the 17.3") but not as much as 4K. Do note that my eyes are not perfect, but I do fine with my WUXGA 17" (1920x1200, higher pixel density than FHD (1920x1080) 17.3") and actually think that some bump would be welcome. Not 4K though, that would be terrible @100% and we all know that Windows is not very good with values different than 100%.

With that aside, this panel wont work, since it most likely is eDP and even if it is LVDS, your MoBo is wired for 2ch, which means QXGA (2048 × 1536) @60Hz max. There are ways to get around it, but soldering would be involved.
