So I haven't been the most conscientious AW18 owner since I bought mine and I just left it on as much as I could just like my desktop. This has lead me to a battery that now runs like complete ****. I can only use my laptop while the cable is connected. If I disconnect it, the laptop dies anywhere from instantaneously to 20 seconds. I'm not seeing any options to replace the actual battery from Dell so is there a way to repair the damage I've done?

Thanks again for your continued help guys.

A battery should drain every week or 2 to maintain life

Purchase a replacement from eBay. Try looking for a genuine one that’s even been used a little. I know of a seller in France that sells new and official batteries but his price is a little steap (£110).

I recently replaced mine as mine come dead when I purchased the laptop. Has been used a little but gives me just over an hour on battery which is quiet good in my opinion.

Yes. But make sure it’s an official one. I firstly purchased a generic one but when it arrived the quality was really poor and charge wouldn’t last more than 10 mins. Also make sure the battery is an 8 cell and not a 12 and you should be good.

This says it's genuine/original/OEM. Is there any clear sign to make sure it's an official one?

Why do u want the battery unless using iGPU it will just die really fast anyway. My AW18 just broke and I am selling it for parts so I may be able to sell a battery to u which is in excellent condition

Don’t think this is a genuine dell as in the product description the company say they make them in their own factory. Here’s a link to the one I’ve enquired about and this is 100% genuine dell, he also posts worldwide.

The battery life is really short on the AW18 as the 2 gpus make it die very quickly... If u want to get over 2 hours u need to have like all apps closed in background and run off the cpu only FN+F5 I'm pretty sure switches to that mode.

What do you mean hooked to your desk? I always had my laptop plugged in as well but now I'm in my current situation.

Very odd, All the Alienwares in my signature have been plugged in and the battery wear according to the BIOS is not greater than 10%, some cases as low as 6%
