They must of just found a warehouse with a bunch of 18s in it that they forgot about somewhere so they put them back up for sale to get rid of them. Still no alienware 18 with 970m or 980m . But still for sale non-the-less.

This should be posted in the M18 forum. I'm sure these will get gobbled quickly.

Probably depleting leftovers. It's twice as fast to sell SLI than a single-GPU machine.

Yep they don't call Australia the $2 shop for nothing lol, though sometimes buying what the rest of the world doesn't want isn't so bad.

@scracy - In this case, it is not what the rest of the world doesn't want. Maybe it is more like what they (Alienware) do not want us to have.

Oddly, the Alienware 18 no longer shows up in the US at www.alienware.com like it did the other day. The link in the OP still works ( http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-18/pd?oc=dkdnx111p&model_id=alienware-18) but it seems that page is not accessible except by using the direct link. Only the crappy new BGA models show up through normal browsing.

Oh definetly a great upgrade over your previous laptop.. My only worry would be support wise.. Already people with Alienware 18 /M18x laptops are being offered the Crappy Alienware 17 R2 as warranty replacements...
