    Hi everyone,

Has there been any mentions of when the next CPUs for socket type G3? No whisper, rumour etc? Or has intel completely discontinued the CPU G3 branch?

    Socketed cpus were discontinued.

Only Clevo laptops that come with desktop cpus still have sockets unfortunately.

The 4940mx is still a beast if you have one.

I would turn back and go into desktops or only the clevo line. The Alienware 18 is EOL and all the new products are BGA/soldered. Look into the P870DM or stick to desktops. Alienware, for all intensive purposes, is dead.

Yea i thought so too especially after they got bought out by dell. but because I tend to travel alot, I thought maybe ill give it a try. I still have my desktop, just that i sold my titan x and bought a radeon. (btw.. I was previously a macbook user...) So I was looking for a eurocom to switch out my macbook. But lower end models such as the sky x5 and the Monster 4, that price was too much for me. (budget was about $1000 previously checked the P870DM way over the budget.) HOWEVER, I found a really good deal for the Alienware 18 for a $1000. And luckily, it was the last generation of its kind to offer the HDMI in and out. So If I do make a bit more, I could always swap out the 780's

Yes, that is a good deal in my book.

I understand needing the portability. I am in the same boat and take my laptop everywhere.

Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +

Love my Alienware 18. The hdmi in features is one of the best things about it. I don't understand why more laptop manufacturers don't include one. This gives you the capability of hsving a portable screen /tv wherever you go

remember that dell also sell monitors, so why not remove the functionality and force people to actually buy more monitors from them lol?

You need to include chip that will reroute display input, drivers etc. It cost more so only few companies include it.
