Just installed my 4940mx into my AW18. Downloaded throttle stop and XTU, need some help on how to overclock to maybe 4GHz. If anyone can give me a step by step guide on what to do and what figures to change in XTU or throttle stop.

Hi pal thankyou for a quick reply. I have changed the settings like your picture shows. Before you sent me this I’ve gone into bios and put ovc lvl 2 on. Do I need to turn this off now?

I Don't think so the bios should auto configure to XTU set config. mine says OVC LVL1 at 4.6GHz lol, so no I don't think it effects anything

Ok how do I get to keep these settings so I don’t have to configure each time I boot up?

no they will auto apply... just apply the settings in XTU, and IF you want save them to a profile and then restart load up CPU-Z you should see 4GHz active and you will then know it is loading up automatically.

Ok so still no joy, disabled OVC 1 in bios. Max non turbo boost ratio can’t be saved as I get a pop up message just before XTU opens as well as processor current limit drops again from 256.00 A back to default.

Interesting... Since your only at 4GHz you prob won't need the boost of extra power anyway so I don't think it's going to be an issue

At 1.2V?! That's extremely odd... One solution is dropping the iGPU to 6.0x and - 0.050V or 4.0x and - 0.100V what if u set the power limit back to 256A without the restart.. Does it power throttle?

Here is my Score at 4Ghz... completes benchmark just fine, I have also added the XTU profile below, see if that helps.

My bad I put the whole file in c/ instead of extracting contents. Done now I think? How can I tell if I’m on the unlocked bios?

Looks like I soft bricked the laptop, ended up doing the 2 beep ram removal which let me go back into windows but as a new install, so used system repair disc. Now it loads up but keeps taking me to this page? [IMG]
