If you have a Killer Wireless 11xx you should consider replacing it with an Intel Ultimate-N 6300 and moving on to something less frustrating. The 1102 and 1103 very seldom ever work correctly. It is not worth burning any calories on trying to resolve it.

Killer Wireless Discussion Thread - Look for Solutions and Ask Questions Here

If you have a different WiFi card, please let us know more about your system overall in addition to what WiFi card you have.

The Killer 1202 is also a good option and I have been very pleased with that WiFi card in three of my laptops. If you use the 1202 you can also remove the discrete Dell BT module from your M18xR2 (which has also been a rather buggy device). The 1202 has a really solid integrated BT solution that has performed nicely in all three of the machines I have that use it. But, use an INF-only driver install. The Killer Wireless Suite (software/bloatware) is garbage and will cause undesirable and inconsistent behavior.

I'm curious, is the Killer 1202 based off an Atheros chipset?

EDIT: Apparently it is, based off the Atheros AR9462 chipset. In that case, you never have to wait for killer drivers. Latest/open source drivers can always be found on Atheros.cz. I've had very good experience with those drivers on my AR9280 card and they get updated fairly regularly. Impressive that a card from 2010 still gets regular updates 5 years on.

OK, that's a variation of the 1103 if I am not mistaken. That's one of the WiFi cards that seldom ever works properly. I would get an Intel Ultimate-N 63oo or a Killer 1202 on eBay. You should be able to find a 6300 WiFi card for $30 or less on eBay. Don't go with the 1202 unless you want to pull the palm rest and remove the Dell BT module. The 6300 will be a direct bolt-on replacement for the 1102/1103 card. Run the Killer Driver Cleaner tool before installing the 6300 and its drivers.

That is a Killer 1103, a garbage card that never worked, as Fox has said. I replaced mine with the Intel 6300, picked up on ebay for around 7-8$ and been very happy with it. Intel makes great wireless cards.

I've had no issues with my 1103 so far. The only problems I had were due to the Killer Network Manager. Uninstalled that POS and now my system is running flawlessly. The 1103 was a good upgrade to my Intel 2203. I'll probably pick up a 6300 if my 1103 causes any issues.

It is getting really tough to find Killer Wireless drivers and tools like the Killer Cleaner on the web. I had to pluck them from some pretty sketchy places when I last searched for them. I have clean files in my Google Drive you can download. Here is a link: Mr. Fox's Killer Wireless Folder | Google Drive

Feel free to try the cleaner and then install the INF-only method through Device Manager to see if your WiFi card will work any better than it does now. Maybe that will help you get by until you replace it with something better.

Any Intel Ultimate-N 6300 should technically work. There have been some reports of HP and Lenovo versions having firmware that creates some issues on other laptops. (HP and Lenovo are notorious for making things proprietary and "whitelisting" to screw their customers over and maintain control over what they can change on their laptops, so perhaps that is why.) If you get a generic or "Dell" version you'll have no issues.

Both of these should work great and they're dirt cheap:

Any Intel 6300 card will work. Those restrictions only matter if the computer has a BIOS whitelist restriction, which is often the case in Lenovo and HP computers, sometimes Toshiba as well. The M18x and the rest of the Alienware line have no whitelist problems, so any card will work.

I ditched my Killer wireless because it wouldn't connect to my N router at all. I had a 6235 laying around so I just stuck that in there. It's been rock solid ever since. NOT saying to get the 6235, it's just what I had in my spare parts pile.
