The latest BETA version is Verde 290.53 Driver, the latest WHQL driver is Verde R285 Driver, for the card disappear, well since you should have know this, it seem to be affecting the 3GB card, and there is still no fix to it yet so if it want to disappear it could happen on any driver.

Like I said in your other thread, I've had no trouble updating the drivers. I updated to the 285.xx and then to 290.xx beta without any issue, and I have the 1.5GB card. YMMV.

do you have the 116 card? or maybe a better question would be how old is your M14x?

GF106. Haven't been following the gpu issues since I don't have them. I thought the issue were with the 1.5GB vs the 3GB cards. Not sure if people are having issues with newer chips vs older chips.

Ah I see now, because most of people who report that they dont have the problem are most having the GF106, me include. And have you also update your BIOS to the A08? Because in that description, it said something like "BIOS update compatibility for newer NV GTX1xx card", so I guess that NV GTX card is referring to the GF116.

I did the clean install nearly all the time, and never mess up. I guess it is just an unique problem that tied with the GF116 card.
