so i have a m11xr2 witch i want to sell to buy a m14x, i see some problems while gaming on battery...and i do that most of the time on my m11x,

my question is.. should i wait to get the m14x or is it safe to buy and just wait for a fix by BIOS or updates?

well by all accounts the new bios underclocks the gfx considerably, to the point that the m11 games better(so peps say).

so if you are having problems gaming on battery on the m11, i suggest that you dont look at the m14.

The battery issiue will not be fixed as it cannot provide more then 200w and max performance need to give out more.

I had my m14x for two days and sold my M11xr1 just the other day, its something more difficult when it commes to mobilty, I loved my m11x, but it was just .. well .. to small and I needed something portable and this is the thing one that get closest to my needs, the fan is weird though - sometimes its supersilent just like 11x and suddenly it random starts to kick in - the fan that is.

It will never be able to run max performance on battery power, you are correct. However, it can be tweaked to perform much more acceptably than it currently does on battery which leads me to believe Dell will eventually update the bios again so it performs better on battery than currently allowed.

They do have the exact same battery, so max power consumption would be the same.

If we were to assume the 2 computers have the same efficiency, then it would be able to perform at least as good as the m11x. I don't know how much the m11x power consumption compares to the maximum battery output. If it is close, then the m14x will probably not be able to match the performance of the m11x on battery as the ULV processor is certainly more efficient. If there is a fair amount of breathing room, then the m14x could possibly outperform the m11x on battery. It's hard to say definitely.

I would say if Dell does optimize the system for battery powered gaming, you can probably expect similar performance on battery.
