Hey guys, I just got a vertex 3 Max iops today. As soon as i opened my m14x im gutted! :( forgot optical drive uses SATA slimline port!

I am planning to move the X25-M G2 160GB to the optical port. Is the 'fenvi' caddy everyone using any good? Seller can only guarantee up to 50MB/s transfer speed on the caddy as no one would put a ssd in that place so no test result is available

Any ideas? I might just return the V3MI if things are uncertain.

cheers mate. in fact my worrying is the caddy can be low quality. Some other users in the other forum reported the transfer rate is lower than his usb thumb drive. do you have any pictures about what the caddy is like inside? It there a chip or its just like a adapter cable?

I could take a look for you tomorrow. I think it's a mini chip with a cable. Not to sure...

I'll transfer some stuff from the SSD to the HDD and let you know the avg speed i got from a 1GB file i can transfer for you.
