    Hello Guys,

i just wondered if there is any possiblity to reduce the fan noise or stopping the fan at all.

When watching a movie, the m14x fan jumps in, not thats is total anoying but silent is something different.

when i watch the temps it runs at max 48 degrees while watching so i don´t think there is a heat problem occuring this.

Maybe there is a way to tell the m14x when to kick in the fan on which temperature,
would be great if any of you guys has exp with this and can help me ;)

BIOS versions A05 and higher reduces the fan noise a little.

I've found that placing my laptop in cold water turns the fan off entirely.

You can manually control the fans yourself with HWinfo64. I just set them to manual at a low rpm as it is far less intrusive than the off/on/off/on settings dell use. At 2500rpm you will hardly hear it and it will keep it cool doing any light work. Just remember to switch it back to auto before gaming/encoding.
