Need more detail, what cause the freeze, do you have programs running or having an AV scanning? And is it happen at start up? If so try msconfig and unchecked some box like unimportant start up program like iTune, Yahoo! Massager etc...

    1) Did you just get the m14x or have you had it a while?

    2) Did you get it used or brand new?

    3) Is this a problem that just came up today or has it been this way since you first turned it on.

    4) If not, try system restore.

Other then that, I don't know maybe it could be your internet connection is really bad. Do your games freeze?

stop using search!... lol no in all seriousness, try, looking at the amount of services your running, and how much of your RAM is being used before the search, if its super high, then your freezing up cause you might not have enough resources to run everything. If thats the case, type services.msc or msconfig in the run box, and turn off unnecessary services. Also, just some routine maintenace to do, if not doin it already... DEFRAG you HDD and your REGISTRY. Another, cause for system freezes could be a bad driver install, have you updated your system recently? If you did any driver updates try rolling them back.
