Im looking to install a msata to my r1 and I have a couple of questions:

I dont remember wen I buy my r1 but does alienware had the option for msata ssd from factory?
How much is the speed, sata 2 or sata 3?
How much capacity do you recommend, Im looking for 128gb?
Any specific brand better than other?
Any other installation related problem or detail?

You can't install a msata drive in a R1, simply because the needed wiring to support msata isn't there.
Sorry to tell you this, maybe consider an upgrade to the new R3? :D
