    Hi all,

I decided to update my m14xR2 from Windows 7 to 8.1, at the same time as switching to uefi boot (seems a bit quicker) and installing to the MSATA drive (I have a 256gb MSATA SSD and a 1tb HDD, using 64gb of SSD for cache and windows is now on the remaining 192gb of SSD).

I'm having a few issues though, even after all the downloads on the dell site (is it me or are there many duplicates on here?)

Intel RST manager won't run, as soon as I try it crashes. SRT Cache is working however, unless I have a magic HDD with a 400mb/sec read speed.

Creative Recon3Di control panel wont run, crashes immediately, however system is using creative drivers (not MS ones) and I hear sound.

    Any ideas on fixing?

    Thanks!

Oh, also, the alienware control centre won't open, so I can't set the lighting colour...

This is a bit crap :/

That's strange, I wonder why nothing is working for me then.

    I guess I'll reinstall again.

I'm redownloading 8.1 from Technet and will try another clean install. system file checker seems to think there are no issues, so not sure what could be causing everything to crash.
