One thing I didn't realize about the default Intel chip that came in my m14XR2 is that it wasn't dual band. I have a dual band router and am in a crowded apartment building so the 5GHz band is a lot less congested than the 2.4GHz band.

How difficult is it to replace the wireless adapter in the m14XR2? Is this something I can call Dell and get a part from them to do it? Is there a recommended card I should be looking for?

    Any suggestions would be helpful!

Wireless adapter is just under the battery of m14x, so 2 screws to take of the back cover, and 3 screws to take the battery out.

I suggest you to watch a few disassembly videos on youtube, it's easy and painless to get to wireless adapter.
