Sorry for Noobness of this question, I don't know much about wireless standards.

I have a new m14x r1. It's upgraded with the Intel 6250 agn WiMax card.

I live in Vietnam, and there are no Wimax networks available here yet. My Galaxy sii shows 3G and my old blackberry came up showing Edge as available. GSM also shows up occasionally and my sii always has a data connection of some sort.

I want to know if the 6250 and a sim card in the sim card slot can communicate with the networks here. Internet companies here do sell USB dongles with sim cards inside but I want to keep my baby sleek and use her inside bits if they can work.

If it is possible, how do I change the settings? The pre-installed software for the m14x does not show any wimax networks (of course) and I can't seem to find any sim card settings. Does the 6250 card communicate with all mobile phone protocols or just Wimax?

If the default config doesn't allow for this I'm guessing I either need to find the settings or if transmission of a different kind of signal protocol is required perhaps I need custom drivers? Should be theoretically possible right?
