hello, i just got my alienware m14x, right now when i put a dark grey background there's some sort of flickering it's not that bad but i was just wondering if you guys had any of it.

also, we can't in the bios switch to integrated or dedicated which sucks.

so far every game i have tested is good.

Also, i have tested Ubuntu 11.04 and network also, wifi works, but the video card gave me problems.

also, on the m11x there's an option in the bios to switch it, i wonder if we will have this option in a new bios release?

if you guys can set a dark grey background and see if you have the same issue that would be nice ;)

its even worst when the laptop is unplugged.

    - latest intel driver for the hd 3000

wow, unplugged, the intel management software changed the refresh rate to 40hz, will do more testing.

I just tested it with a dark gray background on battery and with power cord attached.

Both me and my g/f don't see any flickering... :( sorry

If it is really noticeable you should call Alienware asap

wow it does change to 40 Hz, that is annoying.

The second you go from powercord to battery it switches...

I plan on running Linux most of the time on this laptop. What video problems do you have? Driver issues?

well i tried the latest ubuntu 11.04, and first reboot, i get video issues, half the screen doesn't show correctly.

I will try debian 6.0 today to see if i get the same problem.
if it doesn't work, i might resort in trying arch linux also.

yeah, it was one of my goals to run linux most of the time, but right now i am not lucky.
