Do you guys have this grating/grinding/ sound on the fan when it is about to turn on coming from being completely turned off? I don't have any overheating or throttling issue but I just want to make sure this is normal.

The fan itself doesn't have the grating/grinding sound after the first 1-2 sec that the fan has started then it will sound like a normal fan after the intial 2 sec.

yeah, I hear the same thing, before it starts to spin. I write this off to the spin-up time and dont think it's something problematic.

I also hear a sound when my fan is starting up; however, it is probably only half a second.

It is normal because it starts to spin in a faster way. Don't worry about that.
