    Hi,

When lid of my laptop is closed I see keyboard leaving marks on my screen (left side). Obviously, keyboard is touching the screen when the lid is closed and is this working as designed or is it a design flaw..or did I get a lemon?

This has already been discussed in this thread, seems to be different from case to case.
Mine only has keyboard marks on it when it's exposed to slight pressure onto the lid while closed...

Thanks for the link to the original thread, your fingers leave substances on the keyboard that later get to the screen and that's what causes the marks. You can use a microfiber protector to put it between the kb and the LCD.

Every night before I put the notebook to sleep I wipe it down with a wet wipe and then dry it with a microfibre cloth to get rid of all the oils/sweat left on the keyboard and palm rest. Keeps it looking tip top.

Yeah, I've found that it's waaay better to slightly clean it after use than attempting to clean it once every blue moon. The "soft touch" makes it a dirt magnet, and the more you leave it the harder it becomes to clean. IMO, leave a piece of cloth if possible when you know you'll leave it closed for a long period, otherwise just try to get used to cleaning the laptop more often (yes, as cars laptops need some maintenance every now and then :D).

I can't look at mine too covered in sweat and fingerprints too, I need to clean it. Having a cloth next to your laptop and wiping it down every night only takes a few seconds anyway

AW needs to fix this on their future revisions. I had an m11x r1/r3 and m14x r2 that did this. They are vertical marks that shows up on your screen when you close the lid that can be wipe down with a cloth.

I know it is a minor issue but the problem with this is that i've had so many other gaming laptops and consumer laptops and i never had those vertical screen marks so we know it is a minor issue by Alienware.

Maybe lowering the keyboard a bit or putting thicker or better rubber gaps between the screen lid and the main body of the laptop.
