Hi guys, was wondering if you can help me with a volume question. It's not really an issue and the external speakers are one of the best i've heard lately and it does sound good with the sound blaster th software that goes with it, but one thing i noticed is that even at 20-25% volume, the volume is so loud on the earphone/headphone that i need to decrease a specific game or windows media volume to like less than 10 out of 100 because it is so loud.

It sounds about right at 20-25% when using the default external speakers, but as soon as i plug in a headphone/earphone at the same volume level of 20-25%, it is so loud i mean like it is 100%.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks

Right-click the speaker icon in your tray bar (bottom right corner) and select playback devices, then right-click the headphones and select properties. You'll be able to configure the audio level and boost here. Or you can also open the IDT Audio Control Panel and configure your profile for headphones

Same thing here. Even with "DJ" headphones, it's deafening at 50% volume and heaven help you if you have it louder than that, it's clearly headphone destruction time. In order to use earbuds in a fulllscreen app at work, I have to flick back to the desktop so I can adjust the volume to 5% since the hardware volume keys only go in 10% increments (either silent or too loud to be used if I want to hear other noises in the room).

Going into Playback Devices reveals the same device, regardless if headphones are connected or not: Speakers (Sound Blaster Recon3Di, Default device). Under configuration, you can select Stereo or 5.1 Surround. Under Levels, it is telling that it lists the adjustment as Speaker/Headphone, and adjusting it is the same as adjusting the overall volume; it is not a separate setting.

In the Sound Blaster Recon3Di Control Panel you can see it clearly knows when you are and aren't using headphones, but there does not appear to be any way to adjust the volume output when headphones are used. As far as I can tell, there is no way to fix this.

@ LongDono, you are right, the headphone volume is too loud even at level 1 or 10%. But hey at least the external speakers are really great. One of the best in a laptop
