my laptop is connected to a BENQ XL242OT and has a DVI cable connected to the laptop mini displayport. At best the refresh rate is 120hz but on the 720p not full 1080p. I have invested a lot and got disappointed by my M14x R1. I doubt that I would ever touch a Dell or Alienware PC or laptop ever again. Other issues I have with this M14X is the heat sink and fan as when I connect to the INternet for web browsing it makes a noise which I hate and when I insert and start playing games it sounds like a jet plane engine taking off from a passengers perspective. This sucks for the money I paid to surf the net and want to play games and also watch stuff in 3d. The Alienware service is ok, and a Dell Technician with my warranty will have a look at the heat sink and fan this Thursday
