    My m14x has
6 gb ram at 1600 mhz
    i7 2.0 ghz processor
    1.5 gig gt555m
    700p screen

When I run dragon age 2 on ultra high I'm only getting about 5 fps, is this what it should be, or is something wrong? When I switch it to high it goes to about 25-30 fps, is everyone else getting these numbers? I've only had it for a week so I could be in the dark for any problems it might have.

Probably. There's typically always a big jump from High to Ultra on games.

High is the highest you should go.

Are you running the game on the Nvidia GPU, or the HD 3000?

(S)he must be running it on the Nvidia GPU because (s)he has it on ultra high settings which requires DirectX 11. HD Graphics 3000 doesn't support DirectX 11.

What you get on one game doesn't determine how another game will run. It's a whole new game, literally and figuratively.

DA2 was somewhat brutal on my G73 at 1080p... It played it in ultra, but I couldn't turn alot of the settings up. If the 5870m chugged at times, the 555m will chug at 900p.

I have a question, I got DA2 on steam, but I cannot enable High Resolution Texture. I got the Beta 285.38 drivers and my DA2 is version 1.03. With Bioware support it says it is fixed with version 1.03 but I still cannot enable it. Anyone got any idea on what to do? Or is it already running on high res texture?

The high res textures are a download from social.bioware.com, the site uses your ea login as your username/password
