Hello! I have M14x alienware laptop with intel HD graphics 3000/Geforce GT555M.

At first I used my syncmaster 2433 monitor , but I got these horizontal (sometimes when it gets worse it goes vertical) lines/waves or whatever you wanna call them. It`s not that noticable , but it makes image a bit blurry sometimes, but if you look at you screen from above its really easy to see all that noise and on the screen. Really weird is that it seems its very sensitive to gray/black color mixes. If I put my wallpaper black with some gray / white accents it almost seems that the picture is kinda floating/moving from those waves/small lines. I updated all my drivers to the latest. Today I recieved a new monitor SyncmasterSA450, it has the same problem. I got older Acer laptop, both monitors work perfectly on that laptop. So the problem is not in the monitors, not in the vga cable , I guess the only thing the problem can be related to the graphic card?

It might be a ground loop. Does the issue still occur if your laptop is running on battery?

Try HDMI, or HDMI-> DVI. The digital format should not be affected.

It's not the fault of the battery. However, you would need to unplug the AC adapter of the laptop (and run the laptop on battery) to check for interference.

Doesn't your laptop have any warranty? Usually they come with at least one year.

Otherwise, you can purchase a HDMI to DVI converter.

ok , yeah, i got my battery changed, now when i unplug the adapted , interference dissapears. So what are my options now?

Am i really screwed ? I`m checking vga-hdmi converters, but they support max 1920x1080, but my monitor is 1920x1200, also do i need special hdmi cable to support 1920x1200 resolution?

Also, can I use thing like this? Or just a simple hdmi to dvi cable?

    1920x1200 should be doable.
