Recently got an older alienware 14 with a gt 650m and a 3rd gen quad core processor. I was pretty impressed. i actually liked the thicker backlight keyboards on it than the sleeker ones in the newer alienwares. It just felt better to type on and looked cooler imo. Performance was still pretty good, it could run fallout 4 for an low-mid comfortably. I think i'd be a great laptop for my younger nephew who plays a lot of popular games that aren't too graphically intensive. Really wish Alienware would bring back these bigger keyboards though.

You can upgrade from the R1 to the R2, I have done it. Parts needed, M14X R2 motherboard. New heat sink and new Fan. Its and easy mod and really turns the computer into a new beast. You can re-use the CPU or upgrade to 3rd Gen i7.
