i just got my m14xr2 and i tried power cycling it. charging the battery to full and then letting it go down. however at 7% it hibernates. do i need to let it be complety discharged at 0% and then charge it up?

wont it do harm to the computer to shutdown suddenly?

Refer here for how to disable hibernation. Haha it will be fine - little difference to it shutting down normally. Refer to my thread here for more info on power cycling (from Dell reps)

Don't worry on cycling it to completely empty - down to 7% should be close enough. Heat damages battery life more than a lack of proper cycling, so if anything I would be more cognizant of that.
