    erm ram miss match??

    hi me again rofl
    ok not sure whats going on but im supposed to have 6gb of 1600mhz ddr3
    but when i run memory upgrade scans i get these results

    using crucial
    slot 1 ddr3 pc3-10600
    slot 2 ddr3 pc3-12800

    using orca

    i get 2

    total slots 2
    slots available 1
    slot 1 2gb
    slot 2 empty

    windows reports

    6gb ram installed

    any ideas? or am i gonna have to rip her open and see whats in there?

    Use HWinfo64 . This will help you figure out your RAM configurations. Most likely both RAM are of different models. But i guess as long as they are of same speed, its not supposed to be an issue. But why did you go for 6 GB anyways? you should have gone for either 4GB or 8 Gb. Memory of same sizes work in "dual Channel" mode. whereas Memory of unequal sizes work in Asynchronous mode and are somewhat less performing then dual channel.

    was an outlet model i couldn't let pass buy at the price was orginaly gonna get an m11x r3 but ended up getting a m14x with alot better performance for a lil less :)

    Its allright. I was just passing on information ;)
    But use that software and it will tell you about your RAM. You won't need to open it up see whats under the hood :D
