    Hi,

I have got a m14x r1. Recently been trying to install diablo 3, but failing. I am looking into a few possibilities. One being my dvd drive not working properly. What I mean by that is that it would appear that the dvd spin speed is way too fast and leaves scratch marks(a full circle) around the diablo dvd.

    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

Thats possible, but very unlikely. Try the Online Installer from BattleNet. There is no real need for the disk anymore.

Also, try to burn a Data DVD full 4+ gb and see what happens.

It seems like the spinning speed is causing you troubles with that. As cooper7op says try the online one.
Is that happening with every disc or only with the D3 disc?

I can't find the online installer that's the problem. I can see WoW and the other game to download, just not diablo 3, which is a pain in the .

It has happened with other dvds before, a circular scratch round discs, but I was watching videos with the other dvds and they seemed to play fine. Except for the loud spinning noises from the drive, which I have ignored as the videos played rather smoothly. However, with D3 I just couldn't install past 4%. Starting from 1% it gets louder and louder.
