I got a Force3 120GB on day 1 of release which ended up getting recalled. the replacement never gave me any issues. I did update the firmware once it was available, but i didn't have any performance issues to make me do so. just thought it was a good idea. I have since moved the force3 to another system and replaced it with a Force GT 120GB. 1 thing to note - Everyone here seems to have major problems/instability with sandforce based SSD's when using the Intel storage drivers. I never installed them when i was using the Force3. I started using them with the GT just to check and to my surprise i have been getting full rated SATAIII speeds for almost a month now and its %100 rock solid stable. as far as I know, I'm the only person round here with a SandForce SSD using RST and getting stable rated performance without dipping down to SATAII speeds randomly.

When it comes to these kind of issues i dont believe in random.

there will be a set number of circumstances that must occur for the issue to show.

weather its Bios version, Sata controller or the ssd's internal controller.

It would be nice to compile a list of everyones issues and get all the details.

ie Bios version, SSD brand and firmware version, driver versions etc. if you compiled all the issues together with these details you would find a trend.

the hard part is getting the collated info.

Yeah I wish we could nail it down.
I have bios A05 with a crucial M4 F009... Mine is totally random as to if it will boot or not boot. The motherboard I had before this one would only boot about 5% of the time.
