    Hi,

    i got a new alienware 14.

I have a peculiar problem....Certain keys (w, p, ; , and up arrow key) are not working..... unless I use the fn key...

from the looks of it it seems to be a mapping problem..... however I have been unable to resolve the issue.

I tried reassigning the fn key in bios.... but it does not help... moreover, there is no scroll lock or num lock key that i can identify...

Does anybody have any idea how I can resolve this.....

p.s..... I had a tough time writing even the above small paragraph!!!!

    Thanks in advance

well.... the problem seems to be intermittent....now the same keys are not responding on their own... but respond only when I use the function key.... and once again, i do not seem to know what is the problem...

    any insight is greatly appreciated...

    thanks

How about an external keyboard? Does that work?

I had the same problem. Your keyboard connection is probably loose and just needs to be reseated
