I went to install some software on my PC and the computer won't read the CD, and it won't eject it either. When I hit the FN F6 key it makes noises like it is tryhing to eject it but it won't come out. Same if I right click the drive and select eject.

If there anyway to manually eject a cd from a slot loading drive? I'm guessing it didn't load right or something. Or, do I need to take the thing apart to get at the CD?

Well, I got it by pushing fn f6 and hitting the top of the laptop at the same time. Also, the disc is visibly warped. I'm guessing that was the problem. Now, to figure out how to get a new disk. :(

Have you also try right click on the disc icon in the "Computer" then click on "Eject"? Because that sometime work for me, while another solution is more dangerous and can damage the disc which is unscrew the DVD drive out then try have something to manually or forcefully pull the disc out.

i dismantled my cd drived (turn it off first of course) to replace it with my HDD (wanted to have a primary SDD instead)... not too hard - just watch the guides a couple times before attempts if you're new at it (honestly it's NOT too hard, just be careful when taking out the disc drive's ribbon - delicate thing... i was careful and didn't damage mine though. you can actually OPEN your disc drive after you take it out and that's honestly the easiest part (just take a couple screws out and viola!!!). if you're afraid of this just try software fixes first or take it to a computer repair shop and get them to fix it for you (really an easy thing to do).
