Hi, I just found out the other day the screen on my m14x r2 is black! I am blind and use a screen reader so it could have been this way from day one! Plugging in a desktop monitor works fine. I'm thinking there is a hotkey to turn off the screen, but can't find anything about it in the manual. Can anybody help? Thanks!

The extend desktop function would be the only one that might refresh it. Fn + F1. If the image appears on an external monitor, the LCD might be faulty. Can you ask somebody to let you know if at least the BIOS screen appears on the LCD?

Hi, thanks for the response. Nothing shows up on the screen! Both my tv through hdmi and a desktop monitor through vga work fine. I guess I'll have to call tech support. I was hoping it was an easy fix! I'll try your function+f1 tonight.
